Homemade Skincare Recipe – After Sun Hydrating Mask

Last week I shared about 5 different types of clays and many asked for recipes using those amazing beneficial ingredients.

How to make bespoke Clay Face Mask just for you

A clay-based mask is one of the high-performance homemade products as it gently yet deeply cleanses the skin, restoring its natural glow. To make face mask is super simple. All you need is to mix 50% clay (of your choice) and 50% of powdered grain, offering unlimited varieties of masks to suit your skin condition! By storing dry powder form, not only lasts longer (six months or longer) but you can also add many variations with a choice of liquid, oil, or essential oils to be mixed freshly.

After Sun Face Mask

It is far more effective to focus on prevention in the case of pigmentation rather than treatment or at least to seek a cure as soon as the pigmentation becomes visible. Sunscreens are necessary to fight photodamage caused by UV radiation. However, the safety and efficacy of many sunscreen ingredients are still in question. Certain chemical agents (e.g. benzophenone and similar compounds) commonly found in sunscreens have been proven to increase the risk of cancer.

What is SPF?

About SPF

Did you know what SPF (sun protection factor) measures? It is the protection rate for UVB (most damaging to the skin), in comparison to with or without the product, how many times longer it takes before the skin reacts to become red. For example, SPF 2 indicates it takes 2 times longer before the skin gets red, or that it cuts 50% of UVB. SPF 15 cuts 93%, and SPF 30 cuts 97%.

The recipes introduced here are to prevent, protect, and treat pigmentation in a safe and natural way.

Ingredients (100 g or 10 times usage)

50 g White Clay or Kaolin

50 g Green tea powder (Antioxidant and beneficial for anti-pigmentation, use after sun exposure)

*The recommended application for these recipes is once a week or immediately after sun exposure

  1. Make sure all ingredients are finely ground.

  2. Place all ingredients in a zip bag, seal, and shake well to blend.

  3. Store in a glass jar.

  4. Add any oil, vitamin or essential oil as per the recipe each time before usage.

How to Use

Place 1–2 tsp. of powdered mask in a small bowl and add 2 tsp. of water, milk or rice water. Stir to blend until a spreadable paste forms, and allow this paste to thicken 1 minute. Apply the entire mixture to face and leave until it dries out for about 10–15 minutes. Rinse with water and pat dry. Wipe with face lotion if required.
